The V-Line 635 is based on the 6.36m version of the ever-present Fiat Ducato, and this longest variant offers plenty of internal space. The usual swivelling cab seats turn to face a handy offside surface with a cupboard in its base. Next comes the washroom while, on the nearside, the kitchen on the opposite side. In the rear, the lounge provides a pair of inward-facing sofas.

The Carthago Malibu 540 DB is a compact van conversion that can travel four people and sleep two in the transverse rear bed.
The furniture is screwed together, as well as morticed, which is probably why it doesn’t rattle and feels built to last. The sprung hinges and positive-locking catches of the top lockers look like those found in a Carthago A-class at double this camper’s cost, while the padded ceiling is another classy touch. Then there are concertina-type blinds, automotive-style trim panels, etc.
Featuring a large rear lounge, the Auto-Trail V-Line 610 SE gives you more room to relax whilst still maintaining the drivability of a car thanks to a sub six metre chassis. This extra space inside this compact motorhome is the perfect spot from which to admire the views from the rear barn doors when you have found the perfect spot to park up.
Twist the cab chairs around in the Autosleeper Kemerton and the interior feels enormous. You could comfortably accommodate five for an evening.
The last 800mm or so of floorspace are devoted entirely to the washroom and the whole area is closed off behind a proper door. Close that behind you and there’s a deep mirror on the other side, but unlike the Topaz the Kemerton’s wardrobe is sited separately so you’ll need to grab your change of attire first. That’s hardly a hardship when you see how well laid out this bathroom is. On the offside is the wet area with shower (with separate showerhead) and tip-up basin behind tambour doors, while on the nearside is a bench cassette toilet.
The Elddis Majestic 105 is low and its rear overhang is short too, so it handles in easy fashion. The 130bhp motor sees high-speed motorway work executed with little stress, and with plenty of power on tap for swift overtaking. Parking (or city driving) is not too much of a problem either as, designed to be compact, the 105 is slim at around 160mm (six inches-plus) narrower than a ‘standard’ coachbuilt and not much wider than a Boxer-based van conversion.
The Auto-Trail V-Line 540 SE is one of Auto-Trail’s most compact campervan layouts, yet packs in a separate washroom, rear lounge and galley kitchen. Ideal for spontaneous trips for just the two of you, this versatile Fiat campervan also doubles as an extra vehicle that can handle everyday tasks as well as longer road trips with ease.
The rear settees layout means you really can fling open the back doors and welcome in the world. For dining, a free-standing table comes out of its safe stowage slot behind the driver. If you want additional on-site seating for a couple of guests, you can also swivel both cab seats – although there’s a step down to floor level behind the cab. The gas tank comes as standard, freeing up interior storage space – as do the Whale heating and hot water systems, which are also underslung.
The Auto-Trail Tracker EKS has long been a respected range in the Auto-Trail collection, with a spacious front living area and rear kitchen. The EKS features a large slim line fridge with freezer compartment, so you can extend your wild camping getaways even further. The Auto-Trail Tracker EKS motorhome styles a low profile exterior.
The key selling point of the Auto Trail Tacker EKS is the lounge, with swivelling captain’s seats, two long sofas. The free-standing table offers good eating space for up to four, even if this is purely a two-berth.
